The network name and password are at the top of your stay link. They show up four days before arrival and come off at 8:00pm on checkout day. If a phone will not join, forget the network and try once more, then text us.

The roof is the best seat in the house when the weather is kind. A few small habits keep it that way.

1. 1Lower the umbrella when you come downstairs, and again before checkout. If it stays up overnight, the wind takes it.
2. 2Close the roof door all the way. Lift the handle to latch it. Pulling the door shut is not enough, and a loose door will slam.
3. 3Grill: open the lid, turn the gas on at the bottle, then light the burners. When you are done, brush the grates, turn the bottle all the way off, and let it cool before the cover goes back on.

Please use the games. The foosball table and the arcade cabinet are here for you. They are also easy to damage, so a little care goes a long way, and a repair is billed if one of them is wrecked.

Cornhole can be played in the living room, on the roof, or out front. Please put it back in the case. Everything else stays where you found it.

For music, go to the second floor. The cupboard is on the left as you come up the stairs. Open the glass door. On the receiver, cycle the inputs at the top right. Use Bluetooth from your phone, or input 1 for Sonos.

The garage is the easy answer. The remote is with the house key, and both go back on the kitchen counter when you leave. The driveway is for unloading, or for a car that fits without blocking the sidewalk or the neighbor.

If a cleaning morning falls during your stay, it shows up on your days at the top of this guide. The garage does not get a ticket.

For Abbot Kinney or the boardwalk, walking is usually kinder than hunting for a spot.

If a bin is already full, text us. Please don't start a pile.

For most of the year the house feels best with the windows open and the air conditioning off. There is a real breeze. Use it.

When you do want it cooler, keep it at 68 or warmer. Much colder than that and the unit can ice up and quit on a hot afternoon. Please turn it off when you leave, when the doors are open, and at checkout.

Please sleep only the number of people on the reservation. If you think someone extra might stay over, ask us first.

No smoking inside. If we have to get the smell out before the next guest, that is a $500 charge. Outside, ash and butts go in the black trash, not the planters, the roof, or the neighbor's driveway.

The front-room blinds mark easily. Please be gentle with them, and raise them before you open those doors.

Leave the house close to how you found it. Tell us first if something breaks or stains. It is an easier conversation that way. We are not looking for a reason to keep a deposit.

Checkout is 10:00am. If you need a little longer, ask the day before and we will tell you if we can. A note about when you plan to leave is always helpful.

The checklist at the bottom of the house section is the one to follow. The thing that helps us most is starting a load of towels before 10, if you have a minute.

This is a tidy during the stay: beds, linens, towels, and floors. Message us on Airbnb or text the on-duty number. A day's notice makes it much easier to say yes.

Airbnb messages reach the whole team, so start there for anything that can wait an hour. For a lockout, a leak, or Wi-Fi that will not come back, call or text. Late at night, if you hit do not disturb, please call a second time.

Please tell us about stains, breaks, and anything missing. We look the house over between guests, and it is easier when we already know.

For a fire, a gas smell, a medical emergency, or anyone who is unsafe: leave that part of the house and call 911. Don't text us first, and don't try to troubleshoot the gas.

The house sits just south of Rose, on the beach side of Lincoln. Coffee, tacos, a burger, and Abbot Kinney are walks. The sand is west. The canals are a longer walk south, and they are worth doing on purpose.

A good shape for a day: morning on Rose or at Gjusta, afternoon toward the water or down Abbot Kinney, dinner close enough to walk home. Save the car for the airport, a museum, or anywhere marked worth a ride.

The Marvin Braude Bike Trail runs along the sand for miles. North to the Santa Monica Pier is flat, about twenty to thirty minutes if you are not racing. South takes you toward the Marina. It is the best way to see this coast.

Ride the path, and walk the boardwalk. The boardwalk is full of people who are not watching for bikes. Scooters and Metro Bike Share stations are scattered through Venice and Santa Monica. Check the app for what is actually charged that morning.

You do not need a bus for a good Venice day. You need one if you are going inland. Big Blue Bus runs Lincoln Boulevard, a short walk east, north into downtown Santa Monica and south toward the airport. Metro line 33 runs Venice Boulevard if you are headed east. Service is better by day and thinner after 9pm.

The Metro E Line is the train. The western end is Downtown Santa Monica station at 4th and Colorado, not Venice. From the house, that is a short ride or a bus, then the train toward Culver City, the museums, or downtown. Get a TAP card, or use the TAP app, before you are standing at the reader.

Inside Venice, a ride is for late at night, for Washington Boulevard, and for anywhere you would rather not walk after dinner. It should not be how you get to Gjusta.

Between about 3 and 7pm, drives in west LA take longer than the app suggests when you request them. If you have a reservation, leave earlier than feels reasonable.

The airport is about seven miles south. On a kind day that is twenty-five minutes. On a normal afternoon it is forty-five to seventy. From 3 to 7pm, assume the longer one. Late night is the easy version of this drive.

1. 1Landing: baggage claim, lower level, then the green LAX-it signs. Shuttle or walk. Request the ride once you are at the lot, unless the app has already sent you there.
2. 2A friend picking you up uses the arrivals curb. Ask them to wait in the Cell Phone Waiting Lot until you text that you are actually outside.
3. 3Flying out: drop-off is the upper departures level, at your terminal. Give yourself two and a half to three hours from this house on a weekday morning, and more if you are returning a rental car.

The FlyAway bus goes to Union Station or Van Nuys. It does not come to Venice. A public bus with a transfer exists, and with luggage it is a long hour you will not enjoy. Take the ride.

You do not need a rental car for a stay that lives in Venice. You need one if you are leaving the west side. A rental plus street parking is also how Monday morning gets expensive.

The Getty Center is free, and the garden and the view justify the trip even if you only last two galleries. Reserve a timed entry before you go, at getty.edu. It is its own outing, not a stop on the way to lunch. The tram up from the garage is how you arrive.

The Petersen Automotive Museum, on Wilshire, is a good Los Angeles day that is not a beach. The vault tour, with the film cars, is the one to book. Give it half a day, including the drives.

Universal Studios is a full day and a lot of traffic. Do it if it is why you came, with tickets bought ahead. The Santa Monica Pier is close enough to bike. It is a good hour. It is not more interesting than the blocks outside this house if your time is short.
